Middle school bridges the gap between the elementary and the high school and as such plays a vital role in each student's development.
Laingsburg Middle School enrolls approximately 270 students in grades six through eight. The school features a personalized, small-school approach to education while maintaining high academic standards. More than one-third of the middle school students are in our amazing band program.
Scholastic achievement is monitored each year through the Scholastic Aptitude Tests (SAT), the Michigan Student Test of Education Process (M-STEP), and county-wide assessments. Results on these tests show Laingsburg Middle School students above the state and national average in the majority of subject areas at all grade levels.
As part of its educational initiative, the Laingsburg Middle School utilizes a highly integrated level of instructional technology. The school boasts the latest technologies, including Macintosh computer labs and mobile labs with Apple MacBook and Chromebook laptops and Apple iPad carts, with the middle school reaching a one-to-one (one computer per student) setting. Please refer to the Education and Technology Initiative page as our resources are ever-increasing and improving.
Interscholastic basketball, volleyball, cross-country, track, band and robotics - among many other extracurricular activities - develop skills and introduce students to competition while practicing time-management skills necessary for balancing scholastic requirements with extracurricular activities.
