Kindergarten Roundup continues! We're having a great day here at the ECEC!

Kindergarten Roundup has begun! Our Kindergarten and Young Fives teachers are excited to welcome our new Kindergarten students over the next two days!

🌟 Happy Secretary’s Day to our Amazing Mrs. Jessica, Mrs. Brittney, and Mrs. Bates! 🌟
Today we shine a special light on the heart of our school! Your kindness, dedication, and behind-the-scenes magic help everything run smoothly. Thank you for all you do to support our students, staff, and families—we are so grateful for you! You are truly appreciated and so loved!

Congratulations to the 5th graders who made the Elementary Honor Roll! We are so proud of you!

8th-grade Earth Science classes spent their Earth Day at the park, making observations about positive and negative impacts humans have made on the environment locally. They were also able to see the replacement of the invasive Norwegian Maples at the park with new, native species trees.

First graders in Mrs. Green’s class made homemade instruments from recycled materials as they learned about pitch and volume. It was a fun way to learn about sound.

Students at the ECEC earned another school wide celebration by following our PBIS values! We practice being safe, respectful, and a team player, then earn red tickets and puff balls to fill our reward buckets. Patty K brought her puppet and led us in song during a super fun assembly this morning. From all your friends here at the ECEC, thank you Patty K!

Another fun celebration morning at the ECEC! Our new Pups of the Pack were celebrated with hallway dancing, an award ceremony, and a lunch treat. Congratulations to these exemplary students!

Today was the Reality Store for our 8th-grade students. They prepared for the activity by choosing a career, finding and "purchasing" a home and car, learning how to balance their checking account, and creating a dream board of their future. Students participated in a simulation of budgeting for a month of expenses and bills, based on their salary and family size. They participated in lessons about interview skills, finance, and opening/running a small business. They also heard from a panel of high school students about what to expect next year. The goal of this activity is to help students understand what will be coming in their future to help them be successful! The 8th-grade staff wants to give a HUGE thank you to our volunteers that made this day possible: -Jen West, Spirit Expressions Dance Family -Brandon Malaski, Small Business Association of Michigan - Wyatt Kaastra, BDO -Our LHS senior & junior volunteers
